Tank Davis arrested in D.C.
Reigning WBA super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis was arrested in Washington D.C. yesterday morning after a reported street altercation… The incident is alleged to have began at The Rosebar Lounge, where sources say Davis had spent more than $10,000.. An independent source reported that there was a dispute over a bill that quickly escalated, Davis and an unnamed male took the argument out into the street. According to the police report the two men got physical, starting to exchange punches.. Bystanders reported that the altercation turned violent with both men exchanging blows.. Several bystanders tried to break up the fight, when both men fled the area.. Police later detained both assailants, who were arrested for disorderly conduct.. Davis was arrested to a nearby station where he underwent the processing formalities..
In the released video footage, Davis is seen in handcuffs being walked towards a squad car.
Gervonta is one of the most talented young fighters around today, but appears to be taking advice from the wrong type of associates.. Davis made an appearance at last weeks fight card at the Barclays centre in Brooklyn, looking a few pounds north of his recommended fighting weight, later documented making a scene with fellow young champions Errol Spence and Robert Easter, in one clip punching a cellphone out of a fans hand whilst fooling around after the bouts.. Tank has come a long way from an underprivileged delinquent youth to become champion.. Let’s hope this kind of behaviour doesn’t become a frequent occurrence.. Davis is currently part of Mayweather promotions Money team, but of late appears unhappy with his current circumstances ..
