Bounty Hunter Jr defects to Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.
Former Cruiserweight world title challenger and current heavyweight contender Michael Hunter jr 16-1 (11 Ko’s) has left advisor Al Haymon and defected to Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing USA stable, in search of bigger opportunities via the DAZN broadcasting network.. Michael is currently undefeated at heavyweight, having pulled off a couple of giant killing displays in Europe stopping the highly ranked Alexander Ustinov and the previously undefeated Martin Bakole back in October and November of last year.. Hunter gave a great account of himself in his sole losing effort, whilst challenging for Oleksandr Usyk’s Cruiserweight championship in 2017.. Michael is currently ranked on the fringes of the top 10 at heavyweight and is scheduled to make an appearance on the May 25 card at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.. The likeable Hunter hasn’t expressed any ambitions at world level yet, but has voiced his wishes to fight for the USBA Heavyweight title, a belt that his deceased father and former heavyweight contender Mike the Bounty Hunter once won..
