Dillian Whyte meets Oscar Rivas, July 20th..
Finally the identity of Dillian Whyte’s opponent for July 20th has been revealed.. Whyte 25-1 (18 Ko’s) will face undefeated 2008 Olympian Oscar Rivas 26-0 (18 Ko’s) at the O2 in London.. Rivas is currently the NABF and NABO champion and is coming off a final round stoppage of Bryant Jennings in January. Whyte continues to pursue a championship fight, despite being pushed back continually.. Impressive victories over names like Jo Parker, Lucas Browne, Robert Helenius and Dereck Chisora should have secured a title fight for the Brixton man, yet circumstances and politics have denied any such opportunity to date.. Rivas is a live opponent, but is beatable, entering the final round in the Jennings fight the Colombian was staring defeat in the face.. Whyte is a much improved heavyweight and an impressive victory should finally affirm his position as the next in line for Deontay Wilders WBC title..
