Eight days before his long awaited homecoming fight in Newark, New Jersey, WBO #1 ranked featherweight Shakur Stevenson 11-0 (6 KOs) has yet another change of opponent. The latest opponent, Franklin Manzanilla dropped out of the July 13 bout and two-time world title challenger Alberto Guevara 27-4 (12 KOs) will now face Stevenson in the 10-round main event at the Prudential Center.. Manzanilla was brought in to replace the original opponent Hairon Socarras, who dropped out 3 weeks ago..
The show is broadcast live on ESPN..
It’s only a matter of 12 days until the triple header at the O2 in London featuring 3 very interesting heavyweight matchups.. Liverpool’s huge punching David Price 24-6 (19 Ko’s) takes on the very durable and on form Dave Allen 17-4-2 (14 Ko’s) over 10 in the opener..
