Venezuela’s 3 weight world champion 46-5 (28 Ko’s) returned to his second home of Japan this week, scoring a relatively one sided unanimous decision victory over the tough Al Toyogon 10-5-1 (8 Ko’s) of the Philippines over ten rounds at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.. Linares has an increasing popularity in Japan and truly does consider it home turf.. Toyogon was in all honesty no match for the classy Linares, scores were wide and close to a shut out..

The return to the ring was really an exercise in shaking off ring rust for Jorge, following the 8 month hiatus from boxing since the damaging loss to Cesar Cano in New York last January..
