Leroy Caldwell a heavyweight from a golden era..

New Orleans heavyweight Leroy Caldwell boxed a whole list of champions and top contenders through the 1970s and 80s..  From the likes of Gregorio Peralta to Ernie Shavers..  Leroy boxed champions Pinklon Thomas and Gerrie Coetzee and earned a draw with future champion Trevor Berbick.. Leroy was a jabber, a solid jab and a physique carved from rock made for a tough crafty contender who travelled the globe to fight or spar the best in the business.. Leroy lives in Las Vegas and was trained by Johnny Tocco for most of his career..  Leroy is now a trainer in the city and has a son Caleb who is a decent fighter himself.
