Dirrell v Smith WBC title clash looks likely for October in Flint Mich.

The WBC SuperMiddleweight championship clash between Anthony Dirrell (30-1-1, 24 Ko's) and Callum Smith (22-0, 17 Ko's) has been shifted to a new date in late October and will most probably take place in Dirrells home town of Flint Michigan. The fight was originally muted for September 9th in California, and although the date change looks likely, no details or undercard has been verified. Smith and Dirrell are boxing for the title that Badou Jack vacated back in March following his controversial draw with IBF champion James Degale.. TGB Promotions, a company that is closely linked to Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Chamionships did win the purse bid with a bid of 1.6 Million US-Dollars. Smith’s last outing was an impressive TKO win over Luke Blackledge for the British title in December, while Dirrell stopped Hungary’s Norbert Nemesapati back in January. Anthony is a previous holder of this belt.
