Easter and Barthelemy snooze to a split draw.. Ajagba blazes on.
Former lightweight title holder Robert Easter Jr. 21-1 (14 KOs) and the colourful former double division champion Rances Barthelemy 27-1 (14 KOs) boxed within themselves on Saturday night at the Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas, scratching out an unattractive Split draw, in a fight for the vacant IBO and WBA world lightweight titles.. Both fighters had all the intentions on producing on the night, but sometimes the styles just don’t gel.. Neither fighter appeared willing to pull the trigger..
Scores were 115-113 Easter, 115-113 Barthelemy and a 114-114 draw.
Both fighters called for a rematch after the fact.. it’s not a fight that I’d be keen on sitting through again..
On the undercard Nigerian Powerhouse Efe Ajagba took care of once beaten German import Michael Wallisch at 1:40 of the second.. Wallisch 19-1 (12 Ko’s) looked badly gun-shy after tasting Ajagba’s power early.. Olympian Ajagba is now 10-0 (9 Ko’s) and is looking for a decent step up fight..
Saturdays Event was hosted by the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas,
and was promoted by TGB Promotions, AB Promotions and Mayweather boxing.
