Jarrell Miller fails drug test, leaving Joshua fight in disarray.

The disappointing news emerged last night ‘Tuesday 16th April’ that world heavyweight title challenger, Jarrell Miller 23-0-1 (20 Ko’s) has failed a random drug test, only 6 weeks away from his June 1st title fight against WBO/WBA & IBF Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua 22-0 (21 Ko’s) at New York’s, Madison Square Garden.. Millers sample that was collected on March 10th of this year, had traces of the banned substance GW1516, Anti doping agency VADA haven’t released any further details of any action taken against the fighter, but it is expected in the circumstances that Miller May be forced to forfeit his opportunity, leaving only a 6 week window for a replacement to prepare for the date.. Dmitry Salita, the promoter for Miller, commented on social media “We are in the process of obtaining further information about VADA’s finding and will have more to say soon on this developing situation. In the meantime, Jarrell continues to train for his June 1 fight against Anthony Joshua.”
The substance in question Is better known as Cardarine, a drug first produced in the 1990s that was shown in tests on mice to improve their physical performance.. GW1516 soon became a black market substance as an effective athletic performance enhancer.. Doping agencies became most aware or the drug ahead of the 2016 Olympics preempting its prohibition.
Joshua and Hearn are extremely disappointed at the revelation, a lot of time and money has been spent in preparation for this, Joshua’s US debut, Miller was the ideal opponent for the date and Venue, it’s ironic that Miller was the one circulating rumours regarding Joshua’s alleged drug use, before this came to light.. The names rumoured at this time as possible replacements are Trevor Bryan, Luis Ortiz, Michael Hunter Jr, Adam Kownacki and Luis Ortiz.. however the southpaw Ortiz is an unlikely last minute substitute with all considered..
