In his long awaited Las Vegas debut, Lineal Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury 28-0-1 (20 Ko’s) put on a master class before stopping the undefeated yet overmatched Tom Schwarz 24-0 (16 Ko’s) at 2.54 of the second at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, on Saturday night..
Fury, Owned centre stage with a ring entrance to replicate Apollo Creeds fateful, Rocky IV ‘Living in America’ ring-walk along with Star spangled top hat and accompanying Showgirls.. The performance was every bit as impressive, dictating the tempo from the start, effortlessly switching, slipping shots and establishing the jab.. Early in the second, Fury hurt Schwarz with a left hand from a southpaw stance, damaging the Germans nose.. the following flurry dropping the demoralised Schwarz.. The brave challenger beat the count but appeared close to submission, as Fury trapped him in the corner and unleashed an unanswered cluster of damaging shots, forcing referee Kenny Bayless to jump in as the towel was offered by the Germans corner.. The opposition wasn’t an imminent threat to Fury, but the manner of the victory and the versatility of the performance was eye catching.. Tom Schwarz came to fight but unfortunately was found facing possibly the most complete version of Tyson Fury we’ve ever witnessed.. If a fighter was ever designed to make a Las Vegas appearance it was this man..
