Manny Pacquiao turns back the clock to shock Keith Thurman in Las Vegas..

40 year old former multi weight world champion Manny Pacquiao 62-7-2 (39 Ko’s) possibly isn’t the fighter he was 10 years ago, but if you were to judge him on Saturdays performance you’d be forgiven for thinking he’d turned the clock back at least 5 years.. Manny scored a well deserved split decision victory over the previously unbeaten Keith Thurman, dropping the 30 year old in the opener on the way to earning the WBA Super world welterweight title in Las Vegas.. Thurman 29-0 (22 Ko’s) struggled with Pacquiao’s workrate in the early rounds, loading up too much and finding the ageless Filipino too quick to catch with single shots.. Pacquiao maintained a high tempo for the majority of the first half of the bout, bloodying the Florida mans nose in the process.. Keith however did adapt, hanging in there, holding a steady pace, persistently gaining momentum as Manny started to tire around the 7th.. The bout became increasingly competitive towards the final 4 sessions as Thurman finally enjoyed sporadic success.. Pacquiao hurt Thurman once again in the 10th, banging home a terrific left hook to the body, causing Keith to freeze up in pain momentarily.. Thurman survived the crisis but appeared to allow Manny that little bit of leeway to hold control of the fight to the end.. Scores were 115-112 twice in Pacquiao’s favour then surprisingly Glenn Feldman submitted a card of 113-114 in Thurman’s favour, forcing the decision via a split tally..
