Texan knockout artist James Kirkland 32-2 (28 KOs) returns to the ring on August 24th after a 4 year hiatus from boxing.. Kirkland last boxed in 2015 losing by knockout to Saul Alvarez, only the second defeat of his 34 fight career.. James will meet tough Colby Courter 13-14 (10 Ko’s) at the Erwin Center in his hometown of Austin Texas.. Kirkland is having what is most probably the last roll of the dice at boxing, this being the 35 year olds 35th appearance in an 18 year career..
The Austin Card features three other quality fighters that appear under the Davies Entertainment promotional umbrella, Middleweight Eddie Ortiz 8-0-2 (4 KOs) who fights Jas Phipps 10-6-2 (5 KOs) in an eight round bout, welterweight Daniel Baiz 13-1 (5 KOs) who meets Marquis Hawthorne 7-11 (1 KO) in another 8 rounder and middleweight Ben Whitaker 11-3 (2 KOs) who matches up against Raymond Guzman 3-2 (2 Ko’s) in a six-rounder.
