Top 5 world ranked featherweight Michael Conlan 12-0 (7 KOs) scored a 9th round Stoppage of Diego Alberto Ruiz 21-3 (10 KOs) on Saturday night in front of a packed crowd at Falls Park as part of Belfast’s ‘Féile an Phobail’ summertime festival.
Conlan dictated the tempo of the whole fight, dropping Ruiz in round 9 with a body shot before referee Michael Alexander called it off after Ruiz took a flurry of equally hurtful shots downstairs.. Time of the stoppage was 1:34.
