Zerafa upsets Horn in Bendingo..

In what would be considered an upset, WBA Number 3 ranked Middleweight Jeff Horn 19-2-1 (13 Ko’s) suffered a 9th round stoppage defeat at the hands of Michael Zefara 26-3 (16 Ko’s) in a scheduled 12 rounder in Bendingo, Victoria, Australia..
Zerafa set off at a fast pace, and putting Horn on the floor in the second with a stiff right hand.. Horn encountered further problems in the third when he suffered a nasty cut.. Horn did find some composure in the fifth, putting together some eye-catching combinations.. Unfortunately Jeff began to tire in the 7th, allowing Zerafa to regain control of the fight.. The underdog dictated the action through round 8, with Horn completely exhausted.. Zerafa finished the job in the 9th when he hurt Horn, dropping him for a second time, forcing the referee to call a halt to the action..
The defeat has scuppered any plans Horn had for challenging Ryota Murata for the WBA middleweight crown in Japan on December 23..
