David Allen returns with early win in Nottingham.

David Allen returned to remain active last night in Nottingham against an inept Karim Berredjem 12-10 (3 Ko’s) of France. Allen coming off a disappointing loss to Arslan Makmhudov last October weighed in a whopping 271 pounds but did all that was asked of him in double quick fashion. Allen came out bombing and dropped the Frenchman with the 4th right hand thrown within 10 seconds of the opener. Berredjem rose pensively and immediately went on the retreat. Allen, fully understanding that he had a beaten man in front of him patiently set up a following succession of overhand rights the concluded in Berredjem bouncing off the canvas at exactly the moment the French corner hurled in the towel. Referee Peter McCormack being forced to call the fight off with 57 seconds remaining in the opener. Allen now at 25-8-2 (20Ko’s) understands that he is one of the most exciting and dangerous heavyweights on these shores when he lets his hands go, unfortunately on every occasion that he has stepped up (outside of the Lucas Browne victory) he has fallen short.
