Maurice Hooker moves up to campaign at welterweight..
Former WBO light welterweight champion Maurice Hooker 26-1-3 (17 KOs) has opted to move up a weight division and will continue his career campaigning up at welterweight.. Mo feels that his last couple of outings were hampered by the 140 weight limit and doesn’t want to continue wasting time struggling for the remainder of his career.. The decision wasn’t taken lightly as both Hookers manager and promoter agreed that it was the best move forward for his future.. Maurice is in training for his first bout at 147 and already feels much stronger and energised closer to his natural weight..
Hooker won the title from Britain’s Terry Flanagan and in his last fight on July 27th, was stopped by WBC champ Jose Ramirez 25-0 (17 KOs) in a unification bout..
