Hughie Fury boxes exhibition ahead of Parker clash.

WBO #1 heavyweight and scheduled title challenger Hughie Fury boxed a time filling six round exhibition bout with a very pedestrian Kamil Sokolowski (4-10-2, 1 KO) tonight at the Copper Box Arena in London. Both guys opted to box without headgear as Fury literally went through the motions, dominating the action and more importantly, emerging from the action unscathed.. The 22-year-old Fury hadn't boxed in over a year, since his April 2016 technical decision victory over awkward Fred Kassi. Tonight's activity was important to Hughie who wanted to gauge his ring sharpness after such a lengthy period of inactivity leading up to an important opportunity.. The bout was changed to an exhibition following a decision by the WBO not to sanction a tune-up fight prior to the September 23rd bout.
WBO champion Joseph Parker was in London to witness Fury first hand from ringside. After the action, both men exchanged pleasantries and offered a great photo opportunity to publicise their upcoming bout.. In the meantime possible future opponent, Dillian Whyte took a chance opportunity to get close and personal with Parker, both men acted in good spirits even exchanging a handshake.. Both Fury and Parker will meet again on Tuesday at a press conference in Manchester to kick off the promotion for their September 23rd clash at the Manchester Arena.
