Former heavyweight title challengers, Pianeta and Johnson meet in Germany, Saturday.

Former heavyweight title challenger Francesco Pianeta 34-2-1 (20 Ko's) puts his IBO International title on the line tomorrow evening when he meets the crafty veteran American, Kevin Johnson 31-8-1 (15 Ko's) at the Infinity Hotel in Unterschleissheim, Germany.

Pianeta weighed in at 250lb's, with Johnson scaling a slightly more svelte 247lb's.

Both fighters have previously fought at the highest level and challenged for top honours, and an impressive victory here could thrust either man back into the title frame..

Kevin Challenged WBC champion Vitali Klitschko back in 2009, losing a unanimous decision, but will be remembered more recently for losing to Anthony Joshua is 2015 in what would be his only stoppage loss to date.. Johnson dropped a decision to the now IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev back in April of this year..

Pianeta was being highly touted as a future prospect, unbeaten in 29 fights before suffering his first loss by stoppage at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko back in 2013 in a challenger for the unified titles.. Four fights later in 2015 Pianeta would challenge WBA regular champion Ruslan Chagaev, once again falling short, again by stoppage.. Francesco has remained unbeaten since then, most recently beating one Oezcan Cetinkaya for an IBO international title in Germany 3 months ago..
