Felix Valera faces Vyacheslav Shabranskyy on September 14th.
WBA #2 light heavyweight contender Dominican Felix “Mangu” Valera (18-2, 15 KOs) is putting his high ranking on the line against puncher Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (20-2, 18 KOs) September 14th on the undercard of the Tyson Fury versus Otto Wallin bout at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Former WBA World interim light heavyweight champion Felix Valera 18-2 (15 Ko’s) will put his number 2 world ranking on the line when he faces Vyacheslav Shabranskyy 20-2 (18 Ko’s) on the September 14th undercard of the Fury v Wallin show at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas.. Dominican born Valera is contractually bound to Top Rank Boxing and despite two high profile losses to Dmitri Bivol and Sullivan Barrera, has remained unbeaten through his last 3 outings, most recently stopping Mario Aguilar in Stockton last May.. Ukrainian born Shabranskyy is a friend and stablemate of Vasiliy Lomachenko and until December of 2016 celebrated an unblemished record of 17-0.. Unfortunately the next 2 years would see him lose twice by Stoppage, Firstly to Sullivan Barrera, then more recently in a WBO title fight at the hands of Sergey Kovalev.. Vyacheslav has had a single victory since the Kovalev loss, a stoppage of Gilberto Rubio in May..
Neither man can afford a slip up, with a victory securing a championship opportunity for either man..
