Hard punching middleweight James Kirkland returned from a four-year hiatus with a knockout win on Saturday night at the Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Kirkland 33-2 (29 KOs) dropped the overmatched Colby Courter 13-15 (10 KOs) three times in the opener to score an expected stoppage of the unheralded visitor.. The victory was Kirkland’s first appearance since his KO defeat at the hands of Saul Alvarez back in May 2015.
